The comment of our oenologist

Io sono Gaja 2011. 13.5% for a wine that will make you scream of pleasure. Here, one exceeds the standards. Fermentation and aging in wood to develop even more complexity. Incredibly harmonic, boisè in the background that does not affect the crystal aroma of the grape variety. Usually, I am not a fan of white wines fermented in wood, because this mostly means the wine is heavier in the aromas and in the mouth. However, beside the average wines, in the Bourgogne it is normal that a great Chardonnay is fermented and aged in wood. "Io sono Gaja" is great and impresses even more due the fact that it is produced in Italy! Probably the label does not express the greatness of this wine. Please use a Chardonnay glass, with a big and low cup; when the temperature rises, the specific weight increases. A territorial wine, however so elegant, that it is able to surpass these limitations - a wine that may generally be called great.
