The comment of our oenologist

The Montefalco Rosso is a blend of Sangiovese, Sagrantino and a small part of Barbera, Cabernet and Merlot. Fermentation in steel tanks and aging in oak barrels. There is a lot of substance; it is a spicy wine with a good tannic volume. The boisè is perfect and adds completeness without hindering the wine's expression.

Terroir
In the centre of Umbria, only a few miles from Assisi, your gaze loses itself in the green of the vegetation, the olive trees and the small light-stoned farm houses. Montefalco dominates the landscape. A wine area of great value, also for the presence of a great autochtonous grape variety, the Sagrantino. With its particularly warm summers, this wine area offers a wine that is felt more in the mouth than in the nose. The base grape variety in the Montefalco and in the Montefalco Riserva is the Sangiovese, for a well-structured yet gentle wine. South-East exposure at 230 m over sea level on clay-calcareous soil. Mild weather.
