Varvàra 2011

Castello di Bolgheri

The Varvàra ‏2011 vintage is particularly rich in fabric, however poor, regarding the yields per plant. To the nose, this wine is fully aromatic, with a hint of dark berries. The taste is very smooth, harmonic with a full fruity aroma, leaving a good after-taste behind. The Varvàra is a Cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot. A highly drinkable wine, with an ample and elegant bouquet, where prominence is given to the fruit.

The comment of our oenologist

Varvàra = the second wine? No! Since 2008, it is a great wine, but with less tannic weight and more fruit/mineral balance than the Castello di Bolgheri. However, Varvarà is an expressive wine that does not make territorial compromises nor follows current wine trends. A tasty wine that should be drunk in a rather big glass.
